Farewell Alaska: Family Photo Session By PropagandaAK

Farewell Alaska :(
For the past three and a half years, we have called Anchorage, Alaska our home. Although it was quite an adjustment for me at first, I grew to love the state and fall head over heels for the community of people who made it so inviting. Anchorage will always hold a special place in my heart as we had so many "firsts" happen there. It was mine and Ryan's first time living together in the same state and the same house after we were married. It was my first military assignment as a spouse. We bought our first home, we rescued our first pet and the most special "first" was the birth of our daughter, McKenzie. With these wonderful "firsts", came the welcoming people of Alaska with open arms and sweet smiles. One of those being, Mitch Kitter. Not only is he our "life-photographer"(we will make it happen) at PropagandaAK, he also became a wonderful family friend. I had been scoping out Mitch's work for months before moving to Anchorage, obsessing over his entire portfolio . Thankfully, my MK obsession did not scare him off and he was willing to not only photograph us, he spent hours leading us around Anchorage and surrounding areas, showing us the most amazing spots that would take anyone's breath away. At first, my husband Ryan was hesitant to partake in these fun Alaskan photo sessions, however after meeting Mitch, Ryan immediately felt relaxed and actually enjoyed all of our adventurous photo session trips. Before we began our big move (road trip to Texas), we couldn't help but squeeze in one last family photo session with Mitch. As always, Mitch captured us in our Alaskan element so beautifully it was so hard to narrow down our final selection of prints. Before I get all teary eyed again, I just want to say...
WE LOVE YOU MITCH AND WE MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY!

  5. I love this photoshoot!

My husband and I lived in Anchorage for 3 years, recently moving back to Ontario, Canada in May. I struggle with the decision every day but it does get easier. A friend once told me, "Alaska will steal a piece of your heart." It is so true. Good luck on your next adventure!

Oh man, I didnt know you guys were moving. Moving is so difficult, but new beginnings are adventures as well. :) New memories to make! It will be exciting to see things from your new life in Texas!

    1. Howdy Neighbor!!!
It is so nice to be back home in Texas for a little while at least (my husband is going through a 4-month training coarse - then we are headed to Georgia). Yep, perks of the military life. I don't think I'll ever get used to the gypsy lifestyle, however, it is fun experiencing new places (depending on where we get assigned of course, lol :)
Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement :)
