Happy Monday Friends! I hope you had an eventful weekend! We sure did and I have to say it feels nice to be able to hunker down at the house today. Our funfilled weekend kicked off with an exciting package delivered to our door from the wonderful baby hair accessory shop, Sassy Bow Co! We were also pleasantly surprised to find an extra little delight, the Chambray Denim Bow w/glitter elastic headband! I tried them both on Kenzie to see how they fit and I couldn't have been more pleased. With Kenzie Obsessed (to put it mildly) with the movie Frozen, the Mini Amelia Gold Lace Crown couldn't have come at a better time.  While Kenzie is still at the stage where everything I put on her head, she grabs or pulls off, she barely noticed it was there and yet she still carried herself as if she knew she was wearing something fabulously important ;)

The next day we decided to wear the adorable Chambray Denim Bow with glitter elastic headband. This little cutie was the perfect match for a casual day spent out in the flower garden. The Denim is the epitome of relaxed and casual, however the bow shape and glitter headband gives it a sparkly feminine touch making it the perfect versatile accessory to wear for any occasion.

I love the way she smells the flowers. She just can't get close enough, lol!

A "Gentleman's" Theme Nursery Design

Happy Weekend Friends! I have a fun little nursery theme to share with you today! This past week I was sent info on this AMAZING Premium Leather Bassinet from BabyHome. When I first laid eyes on the incredible leather and design, I immediately thought "sophisticated gentleman".  In my good ol' nursery obsessed fashion, I dove right into brainstorming this fun theme and what would coordinate well with this work-of- art bassinet. I hate to associate a baby's room with cigars, however, that theme kept coming to mind. You know those old timey "gentleman cigar rooms" that are decked out in old world elegance yet still feels comfy and classy.  When it came time to "virtually" pull together accent items, I searched for lots of leather and heirloom inspired pieces that would still be functional in a baby's room. When I stumbled upon this Airstone Wall, I couldn't help myself but to replace my original idea of a wood/timber wall with this fantastic textured veneer! Once the wall was up added to my inspiration board,  the stage was set and everything else fell into place quite nicely.  So without further ado, here is my version of a "Gentleman" inspired nursery for a precious little lad ! Southern Chic Tea Party Themed Baby Shower

Happy WednesDay Friends! Oh do I have a treat for you today! For those looking for a fun and fanciful theme for your little princess's upcoming birthday party or to shower an expectant mommy who is preparing for her little princess, today's post is for you!

It's TEA TIME for the lovely mommy Claire, as her family and friends gather to shower her with love, well wishes and everything girly! Staying true to her southern roots, Claire's dear friend, home designer and artist Rylin Crane from Art & Soul- Art & Home Decor Store enlisted the help of close friends to set the stage for a beautiful Rustic Chic Tea Party in honor of baby Layla's soon to be arrival! From the fresh flowers displayed throughout to the gilded vintage tea set's serving as centerpieces and serving stands, this sweet soiree was nothing short of fanciful southern charm. The anchor of the shower's arrangement and my personal favorite was the daintily decorated food table that was filled with an array of tea party delicacies such as scrumptious tarts and scones, adorable bite sized sandwiches and sweet treats abound. This delightful menu added the perfect compliment to the theme and over all sweet spirit of the day. Let's now raise up our pinkies and make a joyous tea time toast to this beautiful mommy and her adorable new bundle of joy, Layla Grace.

Konfidence Child Swimming Jacket: Review + Giveaway!

Well it's officially summer friends!! Time for outdoor BBQs, Beach, Lake, River and/or Pool Time! I was a little nervous this year about McKenzie's take on large bodies of water. She loved it last summer, however, she was only 8 months and was nestled in a little floaty boat most of the time or I held her as we skipped through the water. This summer she's over a year and a half with new excitements and fears. I prayed that she would love water as I much as I do. I actually can't remember a summer where I wasn't at the pool all day everyday. Lucky for me her first trip to the beach was a success and our pool day was an even bigger success. With our local pool having a "beach entry", Kenzie did not waste any time running right out into the pool and began splashing around. Thank goodness I put on her Konfidence Swimmer's Jacket beforehand or everyone would've heard one loud and panicked mommy as I quickly ran in with her. If your little loves water as much as mine does, this would be a wonderful swimming aid to add to your list of swim time must-haves.

It also features 8 removable floaties that allow me to adjust the buoyancy level as McKenzie's swimming skills progress.

 

Your child's weight is key when adjusting buoyancy as well. My little is a little too light to have all the floaty bars inserted. When all floaters are inserted, she tends to tip forward and/or backwards. Your child should be at shoulder level with water surface at all times (see video below). This may require you to remove a few of the floaters so that your child remains at correct water level :)

McKenzie loved having a little bit of space to enjoy the water. However, even though she does have her Konfidence Swimming Jacket on, I am right by her side at a finger tips reach.  This jacket is strictly to help keep your child at the service. I cropped my arms out of the photos below as to not be a distraction. My little one is still learning the concept of holding her head out of the water when on her belly so under no circumstances will she be further than a finger tips reach away for more than a few seconds.

This swimmer's jacket is designed with a Yellow back for high-visibility. It also promotes correct swimming position helping your child achieve the face forward swimming position. Since Kenzie is not at a face forward swimming level yet, I do not allow her to stay in this position very long as I stated above. As she gets older and grows to be a confident swimmer, I will allow more freedom and adjust the buoyancy level as needed.
