Outdoor Christmas Family Photos

"It's the most wonderful Tiiiiiiiiime, Of The Year!"

Are you like me and look forward to having your family photos taken, even though you know they are not going to go as planned and will most likely not match the dream image you have in your mind? I usually take our photos myself every year simply because committing to a scheduled session is not in our family's DNA.  We barely remember to make it to our Dr's appointments even after they call the day before to remind us. For some reason though, I get excited about this time as I seem to think it will be an experience filled with sugar plums and rainbows with everyone in the best mood and on their best behavior! 9 times out of 10, it usually ends up with someone crying because they have to sit still for longer than a second or someone not in favor of the outfits I have picked out or someone running around like a chicken with her head cut off because she knows she only has a short amount of time before chaos starts to rain down. With that said, no matter how our family photo experience goes, I treasure these moments together and I find it amazing how every year our photos always seem to beautifully reflect this perfectly imperfect moment in time that I our family will cherish forever!

Here are a few that I was able to capture before the kiddos went wild in the woods! I'm still trying to decide on which one we want to use for our Christmas Card so Stay Tuned!!

Christmas Tree Farm Family Photos

Hi Friends! It's that time of year again to gather together for a beautiful memorable family photo.  This year, we decided to take it outside and take a few fun shots at a local Christmas Tree Farm here in town. There is something so magical about a Christmas Tree, it not only brightens up the Christmas Holiday, the smell brings back so many wonderful memories as a child creating a nostalgia atmosphere every time I walk into our living room. Minus the pine-needles that seem to pile up on the floor seconds after cleaning up the previous pile, if left up to me, I would keep our tree up year around. Yes, I'm that crazy Christmas nut that can't seem to get enough of the holiday spirit. So, when we found this Christmas Tree farm (via a friend on Facebook), I thought it would be a fun and unique way to capture our family this holiday season. With the last minute decision to schedule a family photo shoot, I didn't have enough time to hire a photographer. So I packed up my camera and tripod, threw a few outfits together for the fam that somewhat coordinated and off to the tree farm we went. Here are a few photos out of A LOT of no-so-pretty attempts that might make a frame or two :)

After we arrived home, I went to Minted.com to work on our Christmas Cards. I love their designs and website and they always deliver the best product every year.  Be sure to check back here next week, as I will be sharing more on my Christmas Card Design experience with them and might even have a little something special for Fawn Over Baby Readers!
